The National Health Service turned 70 on 5 July 2018! 

This year is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of one of the nation’s most loved institutions, to appreciate the vital role the service plays in our lives, and to recognise and thank the extraordinary NHS staff – the everyday heroes – who are always there to greet, advise, and care for, us.

NHS70: A clinical focus

As part of NHS70 we are talking to our clinical directors about their memories of how the NHS has changed over the years.

Here we talk to Dr Steve Thomas, NHS Sheffield CCG clinical lead for mental health, learning disabilities and dementia about his memories  over the years of working as a GP with a specialism in mental health.
