The NHS Sheffield CCG has set out four priority aims:

  • To improve patient experience and access to care
  • To improve the quality and equality of healthcare in Sheffield
  • To work with Sheffield City Council to continue to reduce health inequalities in Sheffield
  • To ensure there is a sustainable, affordable healthcare system in Sheffield

The Group will promote good governance and proper stewardship of public resources in pursuance of its goals and in meeting its statutory duties.

Our Vision

By working together with patients, public and partners, we will improve and transform the health and wellbeing of our citizens and communities across Sheffield.

We intend to transform healthcare in Sheffield by fundamentally changing the balance of healthcare provided in hospital and in the community, so that many more patients receive care closer to home, when that is the right place for them to receive care.

Our Mission:

The CCG has four priority aims:

  1. To improve patient experience and access to care
  2. To improve the quality and equality of healthcare in Sheffield
  3. To work with Sheffield City Council to continue to reduce health inequalities in Sheffield
  4. To ensure there is a sustainable, affordable healthcare system in Sheffield

Our top 3 Goals:

  1. Increasing the proportion of care delivered outside of hospital and to become a person-centred city that promotes greater independence for our citizens and supporting them to take control of their own health and health care
  2. Building sustainable Primary Care that supports GPs in their role as expert generalists and senior clinicians for their patients.  Neighbourhoods working collaboratively with citizens, public services and the voluntary sector to improve care by using our combined resource more effectively
  3. Reducing health inequalities through, for example, giving every child and young person the best start in life, preventing the early onset of avoidable disease and premature deaths and achieving parity of esteem for people with mental health illness, and learning disabilities.

We think the Citywide top three goals:

  1. Supporting people to keep well and engage in health and wellbeing and to adopt healthy behaviours
  2. To work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for the citizens of Sheffield by using our combined resources most effectively
  3. Helping people with increased support needs to live as independently as possible
