New ‘Community Hub’ Medical Centre

New ‘Community Hub’ Medical Centre
25 July 2017

Woodseats residents will soon benefit from a new community hub, complete with medical centre, pharmacy and library.

The sleekly designed, energy efficient Roddick Building at 900 Chesterfield Road, opens to the public on 14th August 2017.

Woodseats Medical Centre, currently housed on Cobnar Road, will be moving into the modern building and due to the additional space, will be taking on new patients when the surgery opens.

The medical centre will have the same opening times with reception open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm, phone lines open till 6pm.

Dr Anthony Gore, GP and Partner at Woodseats Medical Centre said, “We are excited to be moving into the Roddick Building which we see as a community hub for the people in surrounding areas. By having the GP practice, pharmacy and Council library under one roof, residents can access the health services they need while also using the library and meeting other local residents.

“The medical centre will remain open during the move and we are planning to see patients on Monday 14th August in our new home. On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th August we will be operating a drop in doctor’s surgery at the current medical centre from 8.30am to 10am and 3pm to 4.30pm for patients that need to be seen that day.

“We will also be running a blood pressure drop in service and nurse appointments as normal on Thursday 10th August, but not on Friday 11th August.

“We will be unable to print prescriptions from Wednesday 9th August until we are in the new building so we are currently doing additional prescriptions for all repeat medication. If you are worried about getting your prescription during this time please contact the practice.”

The Medical Centre will be offering tours of the building once it has opened.
