Clinical Quality

hospital setting low res

We have a Quality team at the CCG to ensure we commission high quality and safe services from NHS and Independent providers.  This involves gaining assurance that:

  • patients are safe during contact with health care
  • the most effective care and treatment is delivered
  • patients have the best possible outcomes
  • national quality targets and regulatory standards are met
  • there are safeguards for vulnerable children and adults
  • feedback from patients and families is listened to and improvements are made to services
  • concerns relating to quality and safety are managed and addressed.

The majority of the team have a clinical background, enabling us to understand clinical issues, help find solutions and make improvements to services. We work alongside GPs, Contract and Commissioning managers to monitor and review performance of hospitals.  We also work with other partners for example, Sheffield City Council, the Police and Voluntary Sector, to raise standards of care.
