(b)  How many of the above assessments recommended eligibility for NHS continuing healthcare; and

The CCG is unable to answer this question as information systems do not permit recording of recommendations made versus actual ratified outcome.  However, as per the national framework the MDT recommendation should be accepted at ratification stage and only in exceptional circumstances should this not occur.  Please refer to National Framework paragraph 153 (see below)

CCGs are responsible for decision making regarding NHS Continuing Healthcare eligibility, based on the recommendation made by the multidisciplinary team in accordance with the process set out in this National Framework. Only in exceptional circumstances, and for clearly articulated reasons, should the multidisciplinary team’s recommendation not be followed.

(c)  How many of the above eligible recommendations were overturned or granted by the CCG.

As described above, the CCG is unable to answer this question, however the information below provides the numbers eligible for Continuing Healthcare each quarter and by definition those not eligible for NHS continuing healthcare.  Those not eligible for Continuing Healthcare would have had an eligible outcome of either NHS Funded Nursing Care, Joint Funding or Social Care only.
