Awards to recognise health care heroes
05 November 2018

NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are encouraging the public to celebrate the hard work of general practice nurses and healthcare assistants by nominating them for an award.

The Sheffield General Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant Awards are a new initiative, launched by the CCG, to celebrate and recognise the invaluable role nurses and health care assistants play in primary care.

Nurses and health care assistants work in GP practices and are an essential part of the primary care team. They plan and provide nursing care, treatment and health education to patients of all ages.

Mandy Philbin, Chief Nurse at NHS Sheffield CCG, said: “Nurses and health care assistants often the unsung heroes of health care which is why we have developed these awards. If you know a practice nurse or health care assistant that deserves to be recognised then I really encourage you to nominate them for an award.”

Nominations are open to nurses and health care assistants that work in GP practices in Sheffield.

Nominations close on 4 December 2018 and shortlisted nominees will be informed by January 2019. Winners will be announced during an education event for practice nurses which takes place in February 2019.
