Residential Oral Care Sheffield (ROCS)

Sheffield has a unique dental service for older adults in care, its called ROCS (Residential Oral Care Sheffield) It involves 10 general dental practitioners, the community and special care dental service, this service is supported by NHS England.

Nearly all residential care homes in Sheffield are now covered by this service and all home managers should be aware of who their named dentist is.

The Enhanced Health in Care Homes (EHCH)

The Enhanced Health in Care Homes (EHCH) model moves away from traditional reactive models of care delivery towards proactive care that is centred on the needs of individual residents, their families and care home staff. Such care can only be achieved through a whole-system, collaborative approach.

The Care Provider Alliance 

This guide provides advice for care home managers on how to support their residents to benefit from the service. It also provides information on how to work effectively with their primary care network clinical lead to ensure the health of their residents is improved. The guide was developed with NHS England and NHS Improvement’s community services and ageing well team.
