Neighbourhood Resources

Sheffield Neighbourhoods Resources

Ready to get involved with your Neighbourhood?

Neighbourhoods can only be the best they can be with involvement from everyone.

Whether you’re a patient or someone working within the local health, care or voluntary sector, we hope that you’ll help us spread the word about Neighbourhoods and get involved.

Below is a range of information to help explain how Neighbourhoods work. These are continually being updated so make yourself a reminder to check back often.

Neighbourhood News e-bulletin

Over 260 people subscribe to our Neighbourhoods dedicated e-bulletin from across healthcare, local authority and the voluntary community sector. It comes out every month and shares the latest best bits from across our Neighbourhoods work.

If you work in the Sheffield public or voluntary sector, there’s a good chance your organisation is very much involved in Neighbourhoods in one way or another so you should stay up to date. Neighbourhood News is the easiest way.

Subscribe here or read past issues here. If you wish to submit something to go into Neighbourhood News, contact us at sheffield.neighbourhoods@nhs.net

Working with our health, care and voluntary community sector (VCS) neighbours

All of our Neighbourhoods have links in place and are really getting to know their neighbours. Afterall, the same types of people share our services and we can do more by working together. We're not the only ones working this way though.

Across Sheffield, VCS organisations are starting to work similarly to Neighbourhoods by coming together in groups with a lead local organisation. These are known as People Keeping Well Partnerships (more information coming soon). There are also seven Local Area Partnerships across Sheffield run by Sheffield City Council.

The good news is that all three are connected and working together! If you're a Sheffield resident or a smaller VCS organisation that wants to get involved in shaping Neighbourhoods, you can find out more about your Neighbourhood's priorities, who it's linked to and who to get in touch with via the resources below and through the link in Neighbourhood News:

COMING SOON: If you are a Neighbourhood, you'll soon be able to download a handy toolkit guide on developing your work with local VCS. It's currently being pulled together in partnership with Neighbourhoods and VCS organisations from across the city. We'll let you know through Neighbourhood News as soon as its ready.

Working with our patient and public neighbours

Neighbourhoods put on a number of face-to-face & digital events throughout the year for health, social care and voluntary sector professionals. Involving patients and people from all walks of life across the city in these events is crucial because they help the Neighbourhoods to regularly listen and learn from others in shaping local health and wellbeing services.

If you have an interest in health, social care or voluntary services in your local area, these events are the best way to join in the conversation and really make a valuable contribution to your local community. Count it as your good deed!

Contact your local Neighbourhood lead or follow NHS Sheffield CCG on Facebook and Twitter for opportunities coming up.

Videos

Dr Anthony Gore, NHS Shefiield CCG's Clinical Lead for Neighbourhoods put together some short videos when we first started Sheffield Neighbourhoods which help to explain the work. Enjoy!
