Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Request for Information

We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out below:

Request/ Response

I am sending this request under the Freedom of Information Act to ask for the following information:

1) Are you commissioning post-covid services:

With the current NHS guidance due to the COVID pandemic the CCG is not commissioning services in the normal way.  No new specific service have been commissioned however the CCG is actively working with current providers to ensure current commissioned services are adjusted and tailored to meet the needs of people who have contracted COVID-19.  Services included designated inpatient capacity, additional follow-ups in relevant specialities.

a) in hospital

Adjustments made include designated inpatient capacity, additional follow-ups in relevant specialties and referral into relevant therapeutic interventions

OR

b) in the community?

Primary care triaging and treating based on symptoms.  There is an established pathway that primary and secondary care colleagues continue to develop to ensure that patients are managed effectively in the community.

With regard to Q1, to clarify, I mean 'post-covid services' defined as services designed to treat patients with covid-19 who were *not* hospitalised with the virus and who have *not* necessarily had a positive test for covid-19.

With regard to Q1, to clarify, I mean 'commissioning' defined as planning, providing, and/ or funding clinical services designed to specifically treat the health needs of the cohort of patients defined above.

With regard to Q1, to clarify, please provide information about any speciality treatment being provided for the cohort of patients as defined above.

2) Can you describe these services?

Please see Question 1.

3) How much have you spent on these services?

The CCG does not hold this information as services are being provided within NHS provider block contracts and GP practice contracts.

4) How many patients have accessed your post-covid services?

Although robust data is being gathered at every stage the CCG does not yet have definitive figures.
