The Macmillan Living With And Beyond Cancer Programme

Over 80 people attended the launch of The Macmillan Living With And Beyond Cancer launch on Tuesday 19 April.

Speakers from Macmillan Cancer Support and Commissioners Working Together spoke about the changing cancer landscape, the opportunity to do things differently and how we are better placed to do this working together.

People affected by cancer attended the event, one of those attending was Dot from Sheffield, Dot was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014.  Dot and a selection of people affected by cancer were asked ‘what is good cancer care and support?’ you can watch the short film on YouTube.

During the launch attendees were asked to write out their personal pledge of support for the programme.  Maddy Ruff, Accountable Officer at NHS Sheffield CCG made her pledge of support:

“I pledge to make sure patients are at the heart of our decisions around cancer services and that we improve experiences.”
