St Luke’s offers specialist palliative care to people aged 18 and upwards throughout Sheffield who have a terminal illness. St Luke’s isn’t only for cancer patients; they also help people with other terminal illnesses, including neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease; HIV, and end-stage heart, kidney and lung conditions.

They aim to improve the lives of people with these conditions and do this by providing high quality care and support, compassion and respect.

Open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week from 10am-4pm, Clifford House provides a welcoming space for all those affected by an illness with no cure to relax, to socialise or to just call in for a drink and a chat.

A referral from a healthcare professional is not necessary for someone to access the services on offer at Clifford House. However, anyone with specific care or mobility needs requiring assistance should be accompanied by their own carer or a companion.

Referral Process

Information for healthcare professional

Throughout a person’s time as a patient of St Luke's, patients may access all or just sample a few of the services they have to offer. It's also quite usual for a day patient or for someone being supported by the St Luke’s Integrated Community Team at home, to require admission as an inpatient from time-to-time

Unfortunately, St Luke’s is unable to provide long term care or offer respite stays.
