We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out below:

Request

I am looking to set up a Domiciliary Care Company as a Social Enterprise. I am looking for funding in the form of a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund. In order to be selected through to the 2nd stage assessment, I need to collect views from the wider community, this includes a number of different organisations involved in the commissioning of care services as well as Service Users and their families. Therefore I am emailing to ask,

1) What are your commissioning priorities and objectives at present? e.g. which services do you classify as being in demand and on the essential list?

2) Is there a current demand which you continually struggle to supply at present? Are there any which you feel will be in more demand in the future?

3) Are there any current or future Health or Social Care initiatives, that you are implementing which are being influenced by the community or are community led?

4) Do you know what the community are saying about their health and wellbeing at present? for example, do you collect surveys, hold focus groups, conduct interviews etc, with service users and their families, as well as/or with other multi-disciplinary teams that can inform policy changes, service needs, local health and social strategies? If so, can I gain access to this information? or if not, what is your advice on this?

5) Can you make any suggestions for a service(s) you feel could improve the health and well being of the wider community, that might benefit from an organisation that is either not for profit or reinvests their profits back into the organisation and/or community projects? For example, a social enterprise has employed a health and well-being coordinator that specifically signposts service users and their families to local activities and events, that focuses on inclusion in their local community.
