Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information

We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out below:

Request

Can you please tell me whether your respective CCG is on the Effective Use of Resources Policy relating to cataract procedures.

Response

The CCG have attempted to clarify the question, however as no response was received it has been assumed that you are asking if Sheffield CCG have a policy which seeks to ensure that our commissioning decisions are fully informed and based on the best evidence available and provide best value for money. The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw CCGs have agreed a single policy for Commissioning for Outcomes which sets out our approach and governance arrangements to ensure that as far as possible, our decisions are robust and justifiable.

The policy does includes the procedure for cataract surgery. The latest version of the policy can be found at: https://www.healthandcaretogethersyb.co.uk/about-us/useful-documents
